At least one of the authors must register for the conference to present their work online or at the venue with a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation. Please note that Conference Proceedings will NOT be published for this 5th ICEP2024 Conference; instead, the entirely accepted papers will be published in the following special issue journals based on the authors' choice and the focus of the submitted paper.
Publication in Special Edition journals:
Authors are also invited to submit their full manuscript to publish their articles in the following Special Edition of Scopus-indexed journals:
Biomimetics - Published by MDPI - Q2
Energy Engineering - Published by Tech Science Press - Q4
International Journal of Nuclear Security - Published by The University of Tennessee Libraries
Note:
An Article Processing Charge (APC) must be paid for the above-listed journals. We'll inform the authors about the exact amount to be paid. However, full papers submitted by the authors who will present their paper at the conference and do not want to spend the higher Article Processing Charge (APC) for the above-listed paid journals will be considered for the Journal of Energy & Technology (JET) published by ASEP Australia.
All submitted papers must be presented at the conference by the authors to be considered for journal publications.
After an intense reviewing process, the article will be accepted for publication.
The authors must follow the journal's specific guidelines to prepare the manuscript.
Authors must format and submit their papers within the due date via their submission system.
Authors must pay the required fees for the specific journal publication.
Presentation of your work at the conference
Authors can present their paper in the following options:
Oral presentation – Online: LIVE or Pre-recorded
Oral presentation – At the venue
Poster Presentation - At the venue
Guideline for preparing your Oral Presentation:
Prepare a multimedia presentation file using Microsoft PowerPoint or similar software with a title page:
Contents: Your presentation should have several sides: a title page, background, rationale, materials, methodology, results, major conclusions, and recommendations for future study. It may also contain animations and video clips.
Format: Use the appropriate font size for each slide.
Time management: Limit the number of slides so that you can finish your talk within 10 minutes. Keep 3 minutes for discussing your presentation and 2 minutes for the changeover. The Session Chair will count the time limit and remind the presenter with a call bell. Immediately after the end of the presentation, a discussion session will commence. The audience or the Chair/Judge can ask a few questions regarding the presentation in the discussion.
The Mood of Presentation:
Online LIVE Presentation: To present your paper remotely, you need a computer or laptop with internet connectivity. We’ll send you an email with an online meeting link so you can join the scheduled session at the conference using Zoom / MS Teams or similar apps. Ensure you have proper hardware (Computer, microphone, and video camera), the required software installed on your computer, and a stable internet connection. Test it before connecting to the online meeting.
Pre-recorded Presentation: You can record your presentation or produce a compiled multimedia presentation and send us a 10-minute video clip (Multimedia file) at least seven days before the conference begins. We’ll play the pre-recorded presentation during your presentation timeslot, and the presenters are requested to be available in the online session to answer any questions.
Presentation at the Venue: To present your paper at the venue, bring a copy of your presentation files on a memory card or access it from the online storage. A computer/laptop with internet connectivity will be provided at the venue. Make sure you are present at the venue on time.
Publications:
All online presentations will be recorded and published on the ASEP Australia Official Channel on YouTube.
How to send your Video (recorded presentation) file:
You don't need to send your file as an email attachment; you can just share it from your online storage (Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, and so on). Please send/share with us the download link for your multimedia file via our conference email address (icep2024@asep.org.au) so that we can download it from your online drive.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you need to submit a full paper?
Authors do not need to submit a full paper to participate or present at the conference. However, authors are invited to submit a full draft paper for special issue journal publication for all accepted abstracts. Please submit your draft paper for journal publication by the due date.
Is there any paper template to prepare a full paper?
There is no specific template for the draft paper; please use MS Word to prepare your manuscript. The article should contain a title, a list of authors and their affiliations, abstracts, an introduction, methodology, results, a discussion, conclusions, and references. Use any standard referencing style for the manuscript.
What will happen once we receive your draft paper?
Once we receive our draft paper, the 'similarity index' will be checked for each submitted paper using Turnitin. The acceptable total Turnitin percentage is anything below 20% in the similarity report, provided that the similarity percentage is no more than 2% from a single source. Please check your paper before submitting it to us.
The paper will then be blind peer-reviewed by two independent reviewers, and the decision, including reviewers' comments, will be notified to the authors. Authors need to revise their paper based on the recommendation and submit the revised paper incorporating all review comments by the due date, which will be notified in the review notification via email. Also, the authors' responses to the reviewers' comments must be submitted in a separate Word document. The final decision will be sent to the corresponding author so that the paper can be formatted according to the special issue journal requirements.
Based on the contents of your paper, the editorial office will decide which articles are best suited for which journal, as each journal has its focus. An updated list of special issue journals will be available on the conference website.
How much will it cost for a journal publication?
The authors are required to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC) to publish their articles on an open-access platform, depending on the journals. However, authors participating in the ICEP conference will receive a discount on the APC. They will receive a 70% discount on the APC (regular price: USD 1000) from Tech Science Press for publishing their papers in the special issue on Energy Engineering (Q4 journal). Additionally, for the MDPI Biomimetics (Q2 journal), the conference participants will have a 20% discount on the regular APC (CHF 2200).
